Postpartum Nutrition Coaching
Welcome to the Nurture YOU! Method
At Nurture From Scratch, we are dedicated to redefining postpartum care through holistic nutrition and wellness. Our Nurture YOU! Method is specifically designed to guide new mothers through their postpartum journey, focusing on whole-body healing. This personalized coaching approach integrates Postpartum Wellness and Postpartum Nutrition to promote recovery, balance hormones, and restore vitality.
Why Postpartum Nutrition Matters
After childbirth, your body undergoes significant physiological changes, placing stress on various systems, including the autonomic nervous system. Whether your birth was smooth or challenging, labor is inherently traumatic for the body. This trauma triggers the sympathetic nervous system, also known as the "fight or flight" response, which puts your body into survival mode.
The result? Your digestive system slows down, impairing nutrient absorption, which is vital for hormone production. Without proper nutrient intake, your body struggles to produce essential hormones, exacerbating common postpartum symptoms such as:
Mood swings (postpartum rage), postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety
Severe exhaustion and "mom brain"
Feeling off or "out of body"
Postpartum hair loss and skin changes
Autoimmune issues like Hashimoto's disease or hypothyroidism
Bloating, gas and other digestive issues
Low milk supply and more
We’re told these symptoms are just part of motherhood, but common doesn’t mean normal. The Nurture YOU! Method offers a path to recovery through targeted nutrition.
How Nutrition Affects Postpartum Hormones
Hormones are synthesized from the nutrients your body absorbs. Key nutrients—like amino acids, cholesterol, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals—are converted into hormones through biochemical processes. However, when your body is in survival mode postpartum, it lacks the ability to absorb nutrients effectively. This leads to hormone imbalances that can affect your mood, energy, and overall health.
The Nurture YOU! Method focuses on using food as medicine to heal your gut, boost nutrient absorption, and restore hormonal balance.

Postpartum Nutrition FAQs
What is the Nurture YOU! Method?
The Nurture YOU! Method is a holistic approach to postpartum recovery that combines Postpartum Wellness and Postpartum Nutrition. It focuses on using food as medicine to promote gut healing, support hormone production, and address the common symptoms of postpartum.
How does postpartum nutrition coaching work?
Our coaching services are personalized to your needs. We begin with an in-depth consultation to understand your postpartum experience and health concerns. From there, we create a tailored nutrition plan designed to help you heal, restore hormone balance, and improve energy levels.
What symptoms can postpartum nutrition help alleviate?
The Nurture YOU! Method is designed to address a variety of postpartum symptoms including:
Fatigue and exhaustion
Mood swings, depression and anxiety
Brain fog and memory issues
Hair loss and skin changes
Digestive problems
Low milk supply
Sleep disturbances
Autoimmune flare-ups (e.g., thyroid issues)
How long does it take to see results from postpartum nutrition changes?
Results vary based on individual circumstances, but many women notice improvements in energy, mood, and digestion within three to four weeks of starting a targeted nutrition plan. Long-term benefits like improved hormone balance and gut health typically emerge over several months of consistent changes.
Can this method help with postpartum weight loss?
Yes, but our focus is on healing and nourishing your body first. As your body begins to restore balance and function optimally, weight regulation often occurs naturally. Our goal is to help you feel your best, not adhere to strict diets or rapid weight loss plans.
Is postpartum nutrition safe for breastfeeding mothers?
Absolutely! The Nurture YOU! Method is designed to support breastfeeding mothers by focusing on nutrient-dense foods that enhance lactation, promote milk supply, and ensure both you and your baby receive the nutrients needed for optimal health.
How soon should I start postpartum nutrition?
The sooner, the better! However, our Nurture YOU! Method can benefit you whether you are weeks, months, or even years postpartum.
What if I had my baby months (or years) ago? Can postpartum nutrition still help?
Yes! Many women experience lingering postpartum issues even years after giving birth. The Nurture YOU! Method is beneficial whether you are recently postpartum or have been dealing with unresolved symptoms long after childbirth.
Do I need to take supplements, or is the program food-based?
The Nurture YOU! Method primarily focuses on using whole foods as medicine, but supplements may be beneficial if you're significantly depleted of key nutrients. Your coach will work with you to determine the best approach based on your specific needs.
Is postpartum nutrition coaching covered by insurance?
At this time, our services are not covered by insurance. Week by week payment plans are available to make our coaching more accessible.
Can I combine postpartum nutrition coaching with other wellness treatments (e.g., therapy, acupuncture)?
Yes, we encourage a holistic approach to postpartum recovery. Nutrition works synergistically with other wellness practices such as mental health therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and physical therapy.
How long do the coaching sessions last?
Initial consultations typically last 90-120 minutes, allowing us to fully understand your postpartum experience and health history. Follow-up sessions are usually 45-60 minutes, where we track your progress, make adjustments, and provide ongoing support.
